Avance’s Commitment to Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption

Avance Clinical, operating through each of its affiliates globally, is committed to ensuring that anyone performing Avance business activities operates within an environment of corporate and social responsibility.

It is Avance’s policy to always conduct business in an honest and ethical manner. Avance takes a zero- tolerance approach to corruption and bribery.

Avance will uphold all laws relevant to countering bribery and corruption in all jurisdictions in which it operates, being bound by the applicable local country laws.

Avance’s Requirements

Political Contributions: Avance does not make donations in cash or kind in support of any political parties or candidates.

Charitable Contributions: Charitable contributions are not prohibited. If contributions are made on behalf of the company, it is ensured, to the best of management’s ability, that they are legal and ethical under local laws.

Gifts and Hospitality: Avance encourages transparency in the giving and receiving gifts, money, vouchers, goods, or services all of which must be given (or received) with no intent to achieve improper influence.

Record Keeping: Avance will keep all financial records and have internal controls in place which evidence the business reason for making payments to third parties.

Responsibilities of Those Performing Avance Business Activities

It is not acceptable for any person performing Avance business activities, or for any person who has strategic responsibilities for the company, to directly or indirectly:

  • Give, promise to give, offer, accept, or request payment, gift, bribes, facilitation payments or secret commissions or other prohibited payments to any third party (whether a government official, agent or representative or a commercial counterparty) with the expectation of receiving a business or personal advantage.
  • Give, promise to give, or offer payment, gifts, inappropriate investment opportunities or hospitality to a government official, agent or representative to improperly obtain or retain business gain, an improper business advantage in favour of Avance, or improperly influence a business decision or personal advantage.
  • Accept payment or gifts from a third party where it is known or suspected that the payment or gift is being offered with an expectation of business advantage.
  • Threaten or engage in retaliatory behaviour against another employee or business partner who refuses to commit an act of bribery.
  • Intentionally or recklessly alter, destroy, or conceal any accounting documentation with the intent to facilitate, conceal or disguise bribery or corruption at any level.
