Francesco Bibbiani, MD, CPI is a physician–scientist and seasoned clinical development executive with over two decades of global experience leading neuroscience and Rare Disease programs. Trained in neurology at the University of Pisa (Magna Cum Laude) and the NIH Experimental Therapeutics Branch, he has advanced more than 20 clinical programs from first-in-human through pivotal trials, regulatory filings, and global approvals.
Dr. Bibbiani has held senior leadership roles at Neurogene, Dyne Therapeutics, Ultragenyx, PTC Therapeutics, Eisai, and Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, where he directed cross-functional teams spanning clinical development, operations, pharmacovigilance, and biometrics. His work has focused on gene therapy, neuromuscular disorders (DMD, DM1, FSHD), epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease, with notable achievements including regulatory submissions across the U.S., EU, Japan, and Latin America, innovative endpoint development, and recognition with multiple industry awards.
Widely published in top neurology and pharmacology journals, Dr. Bibbiani is an active member of leading professional societies (AAN, MDS, AES, AASLD, ISTAART) and continues to bridge translational science with clinical innovation to deliver meaningful therapies to patients with high unmet medical need.
