Senior Director, Safety and Medical Monitoring Services

Pilar Garzon leads the Safety & Medical Monitoring Services team at Avance Clinical and is based at the company’s headquarters in Adelaide, South Australia. She is a pharmacist by training and holds a master’s degree in Pharmacovigilance, Drug Safety, and Post‑Authorization Studies.

With more than 17 years of experience in the clinical trial industry, Pilar has held a variety of leadership and operational roles within both CROs and pharmaceutical companies, including Drug Safety Manager, Clinical Project Manager, Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Clinical Data Manager, Safety Officer, and Drug Safety Lead.

Her expertise spans all phases of clinical development (Phase I–IV) and a broad range of therapeutic areas, including Respiratory, Oncology, Central Nervous System (CNS), Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology and Metabolic Disorders, Cardiovascular, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Gynecology.
