Senior Vice President, Finance and US Legal Affairs

Steven is a seasoned life sciences executive with a rare blend of finance and legal experience. He has been working in biotech for fifteen years, and prior to that he practiced accounting (tax and audit) and then practiced law (business, transactions, and litigation). As Senior Vice President, Finance and US Legal Affairs, Steven applies his background in law and business to structure smart, scalable frameworks for growth, oversee US legal strategy, and ensure that financial and contractual decisions support long‑term development goals. His philosophy is to be an embedded business partner, providing clear analysis, pragmatic legal guidance, and data‑driven insights that empower colleagues to move promising therapies forward with confidence. 

Over the past decade, Steven has held senior leadership roles spanning strategy, business operations, and legal affairs at oncology‑focused clinical research organizations. Before joining Avance Clinical, he served as Chief Business Officer at LumaBridge and Chief Financial Officer at Cancer Insight, where he helped build and lead teams supporting complex clinical programs in oncology. He has also served on a Board of Directors for biotech and CRO organizations. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from St. Mary’s University School of Law, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Accounting from Trinity University, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration and Accounting, also from Trinity University.
